I did mention on this thread one year ago that the price of power would be a major concern to the EMN Chvaletice project, not many investors realise this unfortunately.

The price of power has increased by 3 times since then. Its more likely to go higher than go down due to the nature of power generation in the EU. Renewables are OK for keeping lights on but they do not generate bulk base load power. There lies the major problem.
EU is competing with China. While the EU shuts down coal mines and coal fired power, China has just announced another 200 million tonnes of coal production.
Europe can build more wind turbines but most people have already have had a gutful of them. They are now banned in Bavaria, the French opposition are campaigning for tearing them all down.

Electricity prices look set rise 30 to 50 percent next year and gas prices by 50 to 70 percent, outgoing Minister for industry and trade Karel Havlíček told reporters on Monday.
The caretaker government will propose that a special session of the lower house meet on Wednesday to vote to cut VAT on energy to zero by 2022 and forgive households and companies payments for so-called subsidized energy sources.
