Options are more volatile than shares - they give you the right to buy stock at a price (strike price) before a future date - in ardo's case: http://www.ozstockstats.com/company-option/ARDO - So say today I paid 1c each for 400k options. I can either sell the options or exercise the right to buy shares if I pay the strike price. Either way it's a punt but not risking a massive stake. Option price tends to lag heads price by at least 10% - sometimes a lot more, so you're effectively leveraging on the share price.
