Today's retail figures suggest another strategic opportunity. Spending on cafes, restaurants and catering services rose 6.6%. Sounds like a good time to expand the number of food courts, which are currently only in a couple of flagship stores. The figures clearly show that spending is rising, not falling, its just that the pattern of spending is changing. Opportunities abound for those who can adapt, they are in a much better position than the likes of HVN.
