It really is a land of equal opportunity, everyone has the opportunity to get an education, everyone has the opportunity to go to university, everyone has the opportunity to get a job. It's what people do with those opportunities than determines the outcomes of people's lives. People who end up on welfare do so due to the choices they made and yet they still have the opportunity to get back into employment and make something of themselves, indeed many do.

Not an iota of that diatribe is factually accurate and epitomizes ignorance . Read some of the ACOSS reports for enlightenment. Salvation Army, Red Cross, etc. The individual with MS might have some difficulty getting "... off their rings to get a job." There are a myriad of reasons that dictate an individual's circumstance and need to be viewed with empathy.
