Rio - If rio was to make a bid - an yep, i thought they may as WMC has a mine life of 30 + years with U238 back in favour - but the share price would have tanked in the absence of this bidding war - BHPB is paying way to much. This will lead to RIO picking up assets in a falling commodities cycle as they have stated.
Leigh Clifford is not going to piss shareholder values away buy buying at the top of the market.
That being said - RIO has still got well over US 1b in the bank.....
