You are getting yoru fuel cells confused - the CFU cells take natural gas as a feed, not H2, and reform the gas internally, therefore they do not require a storage for the H2. I do not know if they can be adapted to interally reform LPG though, but if so, then clearly the need to build a separate H2 distribution network is avoided.

As for weight issues, I can't say, nore can I really make a comment with respect to the efficiency of an overall automotive system using a SOFC with no heat recovery versus say a conventional hybrid. All I can say is that if they manage to keep imoproving the electrical efficiency of the cells, then potential in this area may open up in the future.
