acturtle - your point re bacterial oxidation is a good one. The positive things here is that they have already done a fair bit of testwork back in the 90's so have a bit of a headstart here in terms of having plenty of samples tested and so far results appear uniformly pretty positive.
I also note they are covering themselves by having testwork on various types of oxidation processes. Don't know if these are all bacterial or have similar weaknesses. Anyone got a clue.
I understand there will be ongoing presentations to various people and that they have finished the prefeasibility and are now moving into feasibility study (although officially this requires board approval.).
