I write long-winded posts on stocks because, unlike 99% of other Hotcopper-ites, when i'm interested in a stock, i'll actually do some serious legwork rather than just take a punt on the back of a multiple, technical analysis, astrology, or some other meaningless hunch.
I can read, so i know they're on a 6x forward EBITDA multiple. The question is whether that's the right price for this business - i.e. a low margin, commoditised, undifferentiated product reseller facing intense competition and completely reliant on 2 suppliers (Telstra and Apple). Telling me it's on a 6x EBITDA multiple doesn't go close to answering the question. I mean, JB Hi Fi is also on roughly a 6x EBITDA multiple, but so what?
