I like the STT thread.
I'll add to the info already posted by others.

In stock forums you see people with different intentions and strategies.

Your strategy may differ from another member. For instance an investor may accumulate when price drops. They don't worry about a 30% price drop. But they hold for a long time to realize gains.
As a trader it's better to take small losses and buy later.
(It's important to understand that you gave to judge based on your own circumstance, strategy, etc.)

I use HC to sense the overall sentiment, to find if I've missed something and sometimes for education.
I read old (1year+) threads to track the coy/management performance as well.

While not many can be trusted I've met great people here.
