I would like to also raise another technique that I think has merit but which many don't use as you are always wrong and that is piloting out of a trade which is in the red. So rather than double up or dump, pilot down. Of course if it goes down you will feel you should have sold them all and if it goes back up you feel stupid for being sucked in but as a risk management technique perhaps a little underutilised.
