The hype and expectation the BRICS would announce a new currency for trade within the group was misplaced.
In a nutshell.... there is more interest in countries being able to use their own currencies rather than taking the plunge on a unified mechanism.

It looks to my eyes the BRICS are not as united as either China or Russia would like.
