A couple of the dogs from the dog pound wagged their tails and then went back to sleep.
Announcement review:
RPG - Raptus - weird stock. Hardly any trade. Hardly any market depth. Caught my eye on Friday when they went into a trading halt for a capital raise. Not sure what they need capital for so the reason they provide when they come out of the halt may be interesting. Or not. Market cap around $9m.
ADG - Adelong Gold - acquired a gold project. Seems pretty decent at a glance. No real impact on the SP, possibly because of the associated cap raise or maybe it's not as good as seems to me. Dunno.
CYL - Catalyst Minerals - Acquired a gold project from Sandfire. Quite a nice chart. Market cap $1.3B. CYL recently sold Henty to KAU. Bit of a rejig in assets.
EG1 - Evergreen Lithium - acquired gold assets in Leonora Goldfields.Great gold area. Market unimpressed. Market cap aroun $7m. Chart is a shocker and SP has continued to slide on this announcement.
FFM- FireFly Metals - released good drill results on Wed 7 May. Copper and gold explorer. Market cap $519m. Nice SP rise on results and has continued to rise since. Chart might be turning around after a big SP fall starting in late March and continuing throughout April. Might be one to add to the watchlist if turnaround is confirmed.
GOZ - Growthpoint Properties - REIT - Market cap around $1.8B - release a positive guidance and trading update on Thursday. Not an inspiring chart, had a downtrend in 2022/23 and has pretty much been going sideways, trading in a range since. Currently on an uptrend within that range.
LKY - Locksley Resources - market cap around $6m. Released an update on their antimony and rare earth project in the US on Thursday. Market loved it. There's a current STT tip for this company so anyone interested may want to check that out.
NEU - Neuren - biotech - released sales update on Thursday. I thought the metrics were good with sales up 11% compared to Q1 2024, unique patients up 4%, royalty income up 17%, all compared to Q1 2024. Market cap $1.6B. Not a great chart. With a very ST view, you could say that it is starting an uptrend after a long decline but taking a longer view, it is still trading within a down channel. One to watch, possibly to see if there is a decisive break out of the downtrend.
ORI - Orica - released some great results on Thursday. Market cap $8.9B. Uninspiring chart. No real trend. Nice SP reaction to results though.
AVH - Avita Health - wound and burns biotech. Released result on Friday. Market cap $170m. Increase in revenue but was below expectations so market reacted quite negatively. Sentiment on stock threads seems negative too so maybe it's a serial disappointer. Stated in their result that they expect to generate free cash flow in the second half of 2025 and achieve GAAP profitability in Q4 2025. The profitability statements caught my attention. Watching to see if they can achieve that as that could be a turnaround point for them. Chart pretty terrible. Possible turnaround story or maybe they will continue to disappoint. Need to watch and wait to see which way it goes.
WJL - Webjet Group - nearly forgot this one. Had a big SP spike this week. In response on Friday to the ASX query, they said they had an undisclosed buyer looking to acquire up to 5% of the company, excluding current interest. Might be nothing, just someone wanting to increase their investment because they like the company. Might be something with someone taking a stake prior to a takeover bid. Dunno. Will be interesting to see if anything comes of this or if it just all fades away. Chart had been on a solid downtrend until early April when it started to rebound and has been on an uptrend since. Market cap $351m.
These were the key announcements that caught my eye. There would have been many others not mentioned. Can't mention them all. I don't hold any of this lot and not looking to buy any but am keeping a close eye on a couple.
