Around Aix-en-Provence is a great start...take daily adventures from there, the entire region is outstanding...and best advice, find a place to sit and have a coffee and let the region come to you so to speak and find the restaurants without the big signs that look dead on the outside and are heaving inside..locals for locals..and speak quietly and respect other customers 'space'.
