Not really seeing the market atm, great believers in taking future direction from yields (or DXY), US 10 year notes only a few short months ago 3.6% and dropping now 4.4% and rising?
We see the market as a constant search for anomalies to be taken advantage of, whether at stock level (under or overvaluation) or higher. That’s why the micro level leaves the boys somewhat skeptical, if a company doesn’t produce numbers how do you measure an anomaly?
The largest sector anomaly atm is still the under valuation of the better managed large cap goldies against future earnings @ historical high POG (especially in AUD) yet ST 10 yield trend direction in contrary?
Lads confidence lacking atm, all bit confusing, couple of the boys small caps holds going OK PPS, SKS, EZZ and a few just sitting there doing nothing (at best), one advantage of a multi species platform is a good stop loss attack on the trading account, the garage’s team now numbers 7 so the human emotion vagrancy and all the irrational trading mismanagement that comes with it only represents 14% of total mindset of the garage.
Some of the better reptilian traders (who take human form) that I know suggest a human emotional component (HEC) of 50% is tolerable in an investment account but if the HEC breeches 20% on any given day in your trading (income) account your going to struggle, can’t argue with logic.
Still can’t get excited about Li even with movement in ETF’s, not reflected in price of Li?
The lads did have a big trading win the other week but not ASX related.
Had a big charity BBQ do down here about a month ago. BH being a competitive little unit turned it into a gender comp like last time, dueling grilles, most funds raised for charity the winner. The last time this happened about 4 years ago, boys put the BH and her fembot mates grille to the sword by going after the surf grommet market with few of the daughter’s stunning mates out front in bikini top & short shorts whipping the groms into a buying frenzy while the garage’s human, hound and couple of the local Dad’s worked the grille to perfection, men of the grille going about their craft, the girls all 15yo at the time didn’t need an excuse to channel their ‘inner slut’ mode for charity and the day won.
Times change, girls all 19 or 20 now, must be said groms have been known to try to chase down and mount anything that moves but not the girls scene anymore. BH and her mates confident going in with their upmarket premium priced leftie PC health grille of seafood, forgetting they were up against one of the ASX’s elite multi species retail teams, it’s not about what is on the grille that counts but how you buy and more importantly sell it that wins the trade.
The boys attacked the punters with the same sausage in bread, bit of tom sauce, get it into ya that will $5 bucks thanks, a good honest working grille although subject to ridicule by BH & her mates.
Lot of new young families have moved into the area so the ‘put upon’ 30 something young Dad market in play, carefree groms themselves a blink of an eye ago but reality well and truly set in, chained to huge mortgages, professional BH’s blaming them for lack of rural child minding services and a few little ankle biters of their own with their teenage years ahead of them, talk about the very definition of a terminal red TA chart.
The daughter’s mates agreed with the new strategy, knew exactly what to do as if the manipulation of the male psyche in their DNA whatever the target groups age demographic, eye contact, big smile, the clincher being get to 1
st names on 1
st contact and remember name on 2
nd to shore up 3
rd and 4
th comeback refills.
Dads were lambs to the slaughter, centre of attention of a few beautiful young things however fleetingly a bolt of sunlight in the increasingly darkening reality of their lives, the lads grille raised $470 more than the fembot offering, the concept of a gracious winner somewhat absent as the boys put the fembot grille to the sword in no uncertain terms, one for the traders.
Daughter and her mates were more than happy to support the garage, counterintuitively the young girls have never been big fans of the fembots, they are sick of being described as 'victims' and being told who is the blame. Education sorted, career ops getting there, just sort out societal equality consensus for child birth and get out of our way mindset.
Not too sure what is going to happen in another 4 years, girls will not be available at POS, boys discussed it and the Seinfeld strategy of risk/reward “I choose not to run’ could come into play being traders, best let the winning grille just migrate from urban myth to legend over time and occupy the higher ground for eternity.
