After weeks of hearing from sections of the Labor Party - state and national about how arrogant and disconnected Scott Morrison is, today the WA premier decided it was fitting to unload on Dutton and the wider community of state and federal conservative MP's.
Now apparently Dutton 'isn't that smart', he's more a dimwit. As too are many 'state and federal' coalition / conservative MP's. (in the world according to McGowan) According to what he stated, there aren't a lot of very smart people at all on the other side in parliament.
So here's the thing.
Despite your political persuasion, in the the glow of the victory, there can be no room for this level of self serving arrogance at any level of state or federal politics. The people are watching. Maybe just think it, but surely don't say it. It's an incredibly naive approach in the dirty world of politics. Worse still, for the WA premier to suggest that 'the other side' are full of dimwits, we must consider his ragtag ministry, muppets from all walks of life, most of them accidental front benchers or worse still ministers, following their last state election victory. Yes it's a democracy and the people have decided, but where is the humility?
I suppose it takes one to know one could be the adage here? (McGowan V Dutton) Any clown could close the door to the world for a few years, - AKA 'zero covid', but then perhaps the sage needs to look at how his comrades in the CPP are going with the zero covid approach right about now a bit further north of Aus.
As many have noted here, there are very dark times ahead for Australian and the electorate as a result of the election just this weekend. Worse still, they are already getting well ahead of themselves.
By the time they try and wrangle their deals and pass new legislation with their independent patsies to cancel coal, increase the boat arrivals, cancel border force, change the constitution, hold hands and counsel about 'global warming' etc etc etc - it will be all too late.
