Stupid Census comments

Why do ABS staff keep reiterating the past security safe guarding of historical records, of the previous paper censuses.

This appears to be the tactic to respond to media questioning on the online version.

I love the comments made by media commentators who are pro-online census.
The usual comments goes something along this line "the Govt and business community have all the info on you, so why worry about doing the online version"

My question is if they have all the info on me, why do the census at all. Just collate the info from all govt. departments and business community, and save taxpayers all this money.

Could be they need to find out how many times I go to the Sh?thouse, so they can plan for future water consumption.
