I applied for a small personal loan a few years back as I was just starting up my business. As I wasn't on wages I couldn't get the loan. The funny thing is my apprentice did get a loan as I was paying him a wage. About a week later I recieved a letter saying I was pre-approved for a $10k credit card at a much higer rate. If I couldn't afford the lower rate I wonder how they figured out I could afford a higer rate!
