Bass Strait has been producing gas and oil for more than 50 years . lt is now in serious decline . The decline of the fields has been understood for decades .

The operator is now decomissioning and removing platforms and pipelines.

There’s still plenty of oil and gas sitting in Bass Strait. Look at 3D Energis jv with ConocoPhillips. It kicks off drill program in march 2025 on some very substantial 3d profiled targets (ie high COS).
