This gas shortage has been coming for a couple of decades . lt has been amplified by the establishment of the east coast export industry .

Prior to the LNG export facilities being built in Gladstone the business council was asking for an east coast reserve. They had seen what had happened in WA and were keen to avoid it .

They were ignored by all governments.
