The late cross trades of 21.6mn shares reflects likely the accumulated buying for the index funds starting from Feb 2 in an separate account and the transfer to the index funds after close.
I would think this volume is also mainly bought from short sellers and we will see this in the development of the aggregated short position starting from Feb 2.
