Spockie. This is something I really don't understand. There is one group who is shorting the hell out of Strike. As you say there are now 205,000,000 shares shorted
There is another group who are convinced that Strike is about to be taken over. If such were to happen the offer would have to be at a lofty premium to the current price in which case the shorter's would be skinned alive.
Do the shorter's know for certain that there will be no takeover offer,
My thinking is that the board, holding circa 60,000,000 shares between then and with a better knowledge of what the Company is, or will be worth, than any one else, is unlikely to be receptive to a lowball offer. If such is the case I think that any takeover offer if such were to occur, would have to be hostile.
To me, the only thing that makes sense is that whoever wants to takeover STX is responsible for most of the shorting.
We may find out in the fullness of time.
