In relation to other potential deals, it was reported in AFR that Talon had approached all possible suitors without any interest shown. And why would a BPT, Santos, Gina, Mitsui, Min be interested anyway as Talon is simply too small a bite to worry about. We can rant on about Condor, Walyering cash flow, TEG etc, etc but bottom line all those parties listed above would simply not be interested as its too small IMO. The only suitor I can see that makes sense is STX.

As for making comparisons against the NWE deal, i see your point and cannot disagree but i noted at the time that MIN was at very high SP at time of takeover and also noted that historically they have a considerable fluctuating shareprice. Yes that deal has not been a good one. But then look at WGO deal that made good money for shareholders and also STX, but admittedly that was cash.

I am more in the ccmfc camp where i just think that by and large it is now more likely than not that it will proceed. After quite a bit of thought I now take the view that I will take the offer and then ride on the drilling campaign of Strike's SE drilling and WE drilling. They have four holes lined up which have strong, not guaranteed, chance of success. Certainly better chance than Condor, TEG JV etc. I am certainly keen to see what Colby and team can do with Gurvantes. This in my opinion is the real unkown and what value he gets is uncertain. The future funding in relation to Gurvantes is also a big unknown and worries me!

Finally as for independent "expert" re assessment of deal...... I reckon it will be in the bag. Anyway, I do enjoy peoples' thoughts either way. Good luck.

You lost me at AFR, those articles were leaked by STX aligned holders and so far have proven to be baseless

I honestly don't care what Colby or the BOD recommends, luckily I can think for myself

COE or HRZ are great fits. STX might be the best fit but their offer is putrid and should be outbid.
