It would be devastating for those of us who are superannuated, but I have to agree with Pete. If this downtrend continues, ten dollars per share is certainly within the realm of possibility by the middle of next year. People may scoff at that, but one year ago who would have believed that BHP was soon going to be at GFC levels? Yes, this company's price is currently as low as it was when the world was on the brink of the greatest financial collapse in history. Sounds crazy, but it's absolutely true. Of course ten bucks per share would be a ridiculous price but ridiculous prices aren't difficult to find on the ASX. They are all over the place...
After years of holding BHP, I got out at 32 without having made a cent but truly, I can't imagine what this company would have to do to get back up to that level now.
