well, this is the problem with these big coporates in troubled times, they are not 'transparent' enough for investors to really see whats going on.
more simple less complicated companies are the way to go. With regard to the FTSE, I have no idea where its going other than to say it will probably go in the reverse direction to gold.
So if you form an opinion on gold, it gives you some insight.
