The financials seem good, so I did a bit of research. Seems to me that the business model has changed significantly from the original buy what's cheap (from business liquidations and sales of unclaimed imported goods, but only if can be sold within a couple of months).
Now it appears The Reject Shop has become a retail outlet for Chinese imports, trying to cater for every one.

to check out the catalogue and found 21 items on 3 pages. The 200 gram Nescafe coffee at $6.50 is available today (Tuesday) at Aldi (The Pines Donvale) for $6 (0r was it $5.95?).
It doesn't help for the CEO to waffle on about making the shopping experience better for customers when you don't deliver.
