    AUKUS was pushed for by Morrison. the US and UK saw the chance for massive profits from such a deal and just look at the costs already incurred by the foolish deal.

    unfortunately Albanese has decided to do what was beyond the fervid brains of Abbott/Trunbil/Morrison and stick with the legacy arrangements and agree to maintain the AUKUS deal.

    had Albanese been sensible to the real needs of Naval defence he would have at least altered the arrangement and abandon the subs for high potency drones. this would have seen Aus take a role in production. and vastly reduced the cost.

    Albanese did what the Libs should have done and honour continuity of deals made by former PMs.
