yep, goblin's point about the ability of the USA house borrower to walk out of the loan and not be persued is an important one. We, on the otherehand, will be and that makes us try very hard to keep the repayments up. I remember going to suburban parties when the loan was repaid (25 years) , a long time ago. To get started you often amalgamted your bank cards and used the money off them plus a small payment to get you started.
