I and , probably a lot of old people, were taught never borrow money to put on the stock market. You may have to pay it back at a most inconvenient time- like now.
If it is not borrowed money then one can ride out the vagaries of the market. There are a lot more people who will have to sell now because of the financial stress of the world economies. Patience will be rewarded....if you don't owe mney. good luck
