I endorse those who say you must do extra research above what is provided by newsletters. This is critcial.
I have found Fat Prophets useful for finding companies where further research may be warranted. Their weekly reports are pretty useless as far as basing an investment decision, but they are often able to recognise good managers due to their indutry knowledge. I can only speak about their mining tipsheet, which is what I subscribe.
I also subscrtibe to Sotckanalysis which I find useful for oil/gas companies.
It is worthwhile to join E*trade to gain free access to Huntley's recommendations and valuations - its just another source of information.
