the big boys at the pub gave the hole process story to me.
The minerals they mine are broken into two parts, the magnetics and the not magnetics. The magnetic, Luminite, is the biggest proportion but of very low value, whilst the not magnetic contains the rutile and zircon. As soon as the mine starts producing heavy minerals next week they will split out the magnetics and sell it directly. The not magnetics will then have to be stored until the dry mineral separation plant is finished so they can separate the rutile from the zircon. ( I took notes)
