No, i didn't read the Fins update on share dealings, but I have read most of their very one eyed interpretation of CE's behaviour in the last few weeks. To me, they are misrepresenting the facts to suit their story and in a nutshell for me they are baiting their readership. I would like to know if any of them have been shorting the stock through all of this faux holier than thou storytelling.
I would be pretty sure they, or their cronies have been.
More broadly, over my career in finance, i have seen endless examples of poor corporate practice and so don't get too caught up in this notion of full disclosure and best practice compliance; they are variable commodities.
When the shit hits the fan and its a matter of survival ; I have seen time and time again that anything goes - and at least these guys have the core competency and ability to navigate trying times.
While I did contemplate an exit for the same reasons as you, and good on you, I did end up with the issue of balancing ethics with performance and in the case of Ellison, at least he did try make good his error on the tax piece and did tell the board of his sins.
