Decommissioning is the wind farm owner’s responsibility. This is a requirement of all permits for wind farm development.

WestWind also includes conditions in our commercial lease agreements with landholders so it’s clear from the beginning of the project how a decommissioning fund will be established to provide landholders with the assurance that the wind farm has the funds to decommission the project.

Additionally, the wind farm has to pay lease fees to host landholders until all infrastructure is removed.
