There is plenty of oil money to change the perceived facts regarding the formation and ongoing conflict in Israel.
For example the 400,000 arabs who evacuated Israel, not through cowardice, but of lost confidence in their defense and the unequal resources between the Arabs and Jews. They put their faith in the arrival of the Arab armies to wipe out the Jews and return the past power structure. This flight slowly became misrepresented as an expulsion after the Arabs lost. The narrative had changed to the Jews, not the Arab states, being the being the sole culprits of the "Nakba". The Arabs had become the hapless victims of a Jewish grand design to deprive them of their land. That was false. It was a flight, not expulsion, with the expectation the Jews were about to be destroyed.
