Tend to agree, shorts don't work as violently as that and stop losses would have added to but not created such volatility.
I think someone has made a "fat finger" error also. Just typed in the wrong number and hey presto!
Have done it myself on a few unfortunate occasions and bought instead of sold etc etc.
Did manage to get some at 7.7 and 7.8 but it was just over in a flash as they say.
