Kohler makes it sound so easy. And it is easy to take shots at people now far away from the "scene of the crime" and by default cosy up to those closer to hand. The real villain in this debacle was Telstra's chairman, the lifelong brawler Donald McGauchie. As chairman he should have been hosing down the over-exuberance of his staff and explaining to them the political scene here in Oz. But instead Biff McGauchie fanned the flames - and the rest is history.
