U r right, always a double chk is done between Halliburton cement crew & the Company man. Here's how I see it :
* Annular volume for 8.5" hole & 7" csg is 0.0297 bbls/ft, so 5654' x 0.0297= 168 bbls of cement in the annulus. * Vol. of cement in 7" Csg, (capacity 0.0394 bbls/ft), so assuming 1000' of casing is full of cement, ie 0.0394 x 1000 =39.4 bbls
I believe someone's erred on time for cement to set & jumped the gun for this brief hold-up. Will see how the Mill bit (water-melon) performs, else sidetrack isn't a bad option.
