The fact that it went away of its own accord and then only returned after performing a stressful movement could suggest that it may resolve itself once again.
A good friend went through 4 years of misery with sciatica after a bad fall. After 2 years of heavy duty pain killers she tried marijuana cookies just at night for sleeping. Best pain free sleep she had in a long time. The issue never resolved naturally and after a total of 4 years she had a spinal fusion which was successful.
Try this if you're feeling lucky. Lie down in a comfortable position. Visualise the offending nerve. See yourself physically pushing the tissue/bone etc that is pressing on the nerve. Create space around it. Believe it or not, this can provide substantial relief. You don't need to believe in any mumbo jumbo but it can work a treat.
