All agriultural production plays have production risk. The current wet over the east coast should deliver good production prospects for the coming 09 year.

Brazil currently unable to harvest around 40 million metric tonnes of cane because the plants haven't adequate finance to process this massive volume. Given most of the capacity and expansion of Brazil's sugar industry has been built relatively recently it is fair to assume it has been debt financed and hence very vulnerable. India will be on shaky ground too being the world's number two exporter of sugar.

Rogers has good reason to be bullish sugar. There will be shortages (REAL ONES) in the coming years.
