I've been trying a stevia product with tea and coffee - PureVia, mainly to reduce calorie consumption.
I find 1/2 a sachet is enough for me.
Apart from the extract of the stevia plant, it also contains:
Erythritol - a natural sugar alcohol produced by fermenting glucose.
Isomaltulose - found naturally in honey and sugar cane and manufactured by fermenting sucrose.
So, it's a factory food, but then so is sugar.
Keep me away from the Woolies lolly isle. It's tough having
a sweet tooth while trying to eat right.
This morning's 11am green smoothie at nikk0's place will contain, spinach, kale, bokchoy and an Italian leafy vegetable whose name I have forgotten - all made palatable by being blended with a banana, a cup of grape juice and a big scoop of whey protein powder.
It's acceptable to the pallete if you don't mind a sort of 'freshly mowed lawn' aftertaste.
