Many years ago, in the region of the Garza Strip, before it went completely off the rails, Palestinian and Israeli teenagers where mixing together under a youth program (I think it was state sponsored) to expand each others' understanding without adult interference. Just kids creating friendships with one another and learning that they are the same and not a threat as the propaganda states. They would invite each other to their home for dinner, get to know each other, play with each other, grow their knowledge of the family, the culture. All this came to a sudden end with a policy change that undid the ground gained to counteract the propaganda. I guess the hardliners saw this as alien and undoing their synthetic understanding of life and their love of death.
