"It is more prevalent in society than we think."

    that is probably changing
i think that it is significantly prevalant, and so do many others

after my teens i had no old man, his past caught up with him in the form of a rope.
and i wouldn't have being terribly bothered a handful of times if someone put a gun to my head.

but am glad to be alive in this form, as it provides an invaluable opportunity.

don't expect life to be a breeze
rather, prepare for the legions of hell

i asked a semi recluse why the "out of the blue" tornadoes of hell of body and mind?
    he said i created it
totally accept that, as that would be the only just explanation.
and i'd say it would have come from a distant prebirth past, because i have never being inclined to being nasty person or harbour vindictiness, and most of the time, try to consider other beings in the things that i do.

when people die after living a life causing misery to others, there is bound to be a comeback in one way or another.

because it is difficult to investigate the past, it is of utmost importance that we make the right decisions of body, speech and mind to create a better state of existance in the future.

things buried from the past can arise in the presense of triggers, or arise naturally as part of a natural cleansing process.
when they do, it can be intensely uncomfortable, especially if a hellish state continues for extended periods of time.
the challenge is to let them arise and bare with them.
one can start to get a better handle on these things, by practicing when temptation arises to react negatively to undesired stimulus.

also, the molly-coddled, pampered, insulated, medicated, pacified, society that we are raised in, promotes a low threshold for the tolerance of discomfort.

cultivating genuine compassion for others beings, helps to combat the arising of additional unwholesome states - it is a formula for win/win.
