I don’t hold QAN at the moment but at some point they will be worth buying. I am trying to consider that point.
It will of course depend on a call on the trajectory of the virus and recovery of air travel. To that must be applied the value of the assets.
Currently I think the share price reflects irrelevant history. Goodwill value should be zero, slot value reviewed, staff value is negative, old planes negligible.
A nimble, new airline with modern thinking and no baggage could quickly build market share.
Qantas should be valued on a sum of the parts basis.
