    Hello Ausheds, you have made some excellent points for discussion.

    In relation to LED substitution I believe lower energy bills will drive that – it certainly inspired me to change over to LEDs (personally I have measured a 75% reduction in electricity usage for the same lighting output)

    As for which Dy price to use, why wouldn’t you use what you are going to be paid. Simple but logical.

    If NTUs off take agreement(s) are for the supply of a 92% mixed rare earth oxide, with payment stipulated “at say” 80% of the FOB price then that’s what you use.

    Seems crazy to me that you would even consider using the China Domestic price, if you are being paid say 80% of the FOB price.

    Further more based on my (back of the envelope) "rough" calculations NTU is still very viable at $250 kg for Dysprosium should that eventuate:-
