The main concern I can spot with GMG right now is the confidence that may affect people around the $400m or whatever it is that is due in May.
Here is where rationality falls over. What kind of company would pay a massive dividend if it couldnt pay a debt thats 6 weeks ahead of it... so Im sure GMG know what they are doing... yet market is jittery and seeing skeletons when there is plenty of meat on the bone.
I havent followed GMG closely - I will start to look at it far more carefully. It may pay off to spread my holdings equally between the two of them...
Regarding the JV for GPT - all my calculations factor this in as $0. I suspected it was worth less when I first invested in the company. I didnt pick the capital raising though, and I still wish GPT's management would grow a pair and be a little bold rather than behaving like timid directionless lemmings.
I might start a thread over on GPT asking why people prefer GPT over GMG and vise versa. GMG threads look a bit more short term focused right now - and understandably so.
