It's far more complicated than saying a resource is worth $X per barrel in the ground as an average.
Desirability of location, characteristics of the rock, oil/gas mix content, infrastructure near by, breakeven prices for the basin - the list goes on...
Some locations/basins have seen values well over $10 a barrel in the ground.
