    Frader,

    I don't see the need for it to completely close that way but each to their own.

    Here is just one example where FMG didn't close the gap from 2006 (Note that the gap still has not been closed 4 years later).

    11/12/06 close $1.07

    13/12/06 Open $1.081 low was $1.081 Close was $1.14
    (There is a .011 cent gap there that never got closed).

    15/12/06 Open $1.237 Low $1.237 Close $1.28
    (There is a .097 cent gap there as well that has never been closed).


    It just goes to show that gaps don't always get filled.

    I do understand that it does make gap traders much more comfortable though when gaps do close because it is easier for them to trade that way with less uncertainty and less conflicts with their strategy.

    That would be great if we all lived in a perfect world where everything unfolded exactly as we planned.
