"The NSW SES is responding to over 1000 calls for help as heavy rain, strong winds and flash floods impact communities along the state's coast. The SES have deployed over 650 volunteers to assist with 1815 incidents, including 13 flood rescues.There were only six this time yesterday. There's 13 now," NSW Police Minister David Elliot said."That indicated to me the community is just not taking seriously some of the warnings that have been issues. And I would appeal to the community to be very conscious of the fact that drains, rivers and any number of pieces of infrastructure will be challenged over the course of this flood activity."
