Prominent Hill in August 2003 when the
company agreed to staged exploration and
evaluation of the project with Minotaur
Resources. At that time, Oxiana negotiated
the option of earning a possible 65% of
the Prominent Hill Joint Venture with an
expenditure of up to $35 million. Following
the merger with Minotaur Resources
in February 2005, Oxiana became the
100% owner of Prominent Hill, with
non-Prominent Hill assets spun off into a
new company, Minotaur Exploration Ltd
(MEP). Oxiana retains an 8% interest in
MEP and a right to earn up to 75% interest
in all their discoveries.
