The lassonde curve is about a successful discovery that makes it through to an operational mine.
Every case is different to how much of an orphan phase there might be. Maybe if ongoing speculation of a takeover that is tangible and eventuates not long after a discovery phase will mitigate an orphan phase like an AZS for instance..
Anyway I don't know the future anything can happen and the lassonde curve a guide only of what potentially could play out
