The SunCable project is a challenge for sure. No one knows whether it will be successful in its current form.

However it is quite important for the industry as it is pushing the boundaries of current engineering. lf they can make it work it will no doubt be replicated around the world.

Unlike some other posters that are just waffling here's some more information about the industry.

Sun Cable is experiencing some serious local competition. There appear to be many side benefits for lndonesia however that project faces many significant hurdles also.
